Alba 465 is the simple version of the Alba pendant: a blown glass sphere hanging from a cable, designed by Mariana Pellegrino Soto for Oluce in 2017.
It comes in one finish: shiny opal blown glass.
The Design Story
Oluce, founded in Milan in 1945, built the Alba family around a drop of water, which the designer puts to use in different ways depending on the model. Soft shapes from nature meet square lines and a satin brass finish, and the family has a strong visual impact. The single version of the pendant hangs from a cable with no supporting structure, so only the glass drop is left.
The Designers
Mariana Pellegrino Soto grew up in Caracas and studied product design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. Her thesis project was developed together with Oluce, which led to her work for the company. In 2016 she won the Best Packaging Award at the Global Bottled Water Awards for a bottle design. She now works at F&N Compositi.

Why You’ll Love It
Alba 465 is the lightest way into the family: a glowing sphere on a cable, with nothing else to compete. It looks right alone over a bedside or in a row over a table.
Made for Real Life
The light takes one E26 bulb up to 75W. The bulb is not included, so choose the warmth and brightness you prefer. The lamp is not dimmable and is UL rated for use in the US. Dust the glass with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive or solvent cleaners.
