Misty Texture Pendant Light by Penta

Misty Texture is the Misty pendant with a fine pattern of horizontal lines engraved into its glass, designed in 2025 for Penta by Bartoli Design with Andrea Citterio.

It comes in 2 sizes (Mini and Micro) with a matt black metal core and a transparent or smoked glass shade, in 3000K or 2700K light.

The Design Story

In the textured version of Misty, a delicate pattern of horizontal lines is etched into the glass. Penta says that when the lamp is lit, the lines cast a play of light into the surrounding space. It can be used alone or in groups, and it pairs with the plain mirrored Misty.

The Story

Penta works in borosilicate glass, the same family of glass used for laboratory ware. It is resistant to thermal shock, expands only about one third as much as ordinary soda-lime glass, withstands temperatures of about 500°C (932°F) and stands up well to chemicals. Each piece is shaped by hand with burners, which is why no two shades are exactly alike.

The Designers

Bartoli Design is the studio of Paolo and Anna Bartoli, who carry on the design work Carlo Bartoli began in 1960. The studio’s approach rests on simplicity and balance, from the first concept through product development and communication, and it also takes on architecture, exhibition, interior and urban design. It has worked with makers such as Arflex, Kartell, Kristalia and Segis. The R606Uno chair for Segis won the XXI Compasso d’Oro ADI in 2008, and the Gaia armchair for Arflex belongs to the permanent design collection of MoMA in New York.

How It Was Made

Penta designs and builds its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy, and backs them with a 2-year manufacturer guarantee from the Auralis Group. Misty Texture has a matt black metal core and a borosilicate glass shade with horizontal lines engraved into the surface. The light source is an integrated 4W LED.

Why You’ll Love It

The engraved lines turn the glass into a light pattern on nearby walls and ceilings. The 4W LED puts out 391 lumens at 3000K in the Micro with transparent glass (235 with smoked), and 373 lumens in the Mini (223 with smoked). The Micro is 11.8 in tall and the Mini 15.7 in.

The 4W LED is built in, so there is no bulb to buy or change. Dimming and switching depend on the canopy you choose: Penta lists type B canopies in on-off, 0-10V, DALI and phase-cut versions.

Misty has smooth mirrored glass in silver, gold or black. Misty Texture has transparent or smoked glass with a pattern of horizontal lines engraved on the surface.

Should I choose 3000K or 2700K for Misty Texture?

Both are warm white. 3000K gives up to 391 lumens (Micro, transparent glass) and a slightly clearer light, while 2700K gives up to 352 lumens and a softer, more golden glow. Pick 2700K for bedrooms and dining spaces, or 3000K for kitchens and work areas.

What sizes does Misty Texture come in?
