Configured here with a white finish and up to 296 lumens. Artemide describes it this way: “The spherical diffuser design is enhanced by a removable-fitting and tapering luminous stem, that makes the transition from the strong diffuser light to the blind lamp structure area gentle. Base in zamac, stem in thermoplastic resin, blown glass diffuser.”

The Design Story
A spherical-shaped diffuser hand-blown in opaque white glass is enhanced by a removable tapering stem which emits a soft glow. The stem is made of steel with tubing covered in polycarbonate sleeve. Available in table, floor and suspension with 4 different globe sizes and Calice which features a bottom-less globe.
Meet the Designers
Michele De Lucchi (born 1951 in Ferrara) is an Italian architect and designer and was a member of the Memphis group in the 1980s. With Giancarlo Fassina he designed the Tolomeo in 1987, which won the Compasso d'Oro in 1989 and grew into a whole family, from Micro to Mega.
Huub Ubbens: Born in The Netherlands in 1964, Huub Ubbens ran Artemide’s design department from 1997-2004. Deeply interested in the culture and science of light, he believes light displays both rhythm and geographic influence.
