Cubed is a living-room sofa first and a guest bed second, without compromising either. Embracing smaller spaces, accepting them as inspiration rather than a limitation, the Cubed Wood sleeper sofa has been designed with compact living in mind while reflecting the strong Scandinavian design tradition.
While paying homage to carpentry details, the construction of Cubed is developed based on limited space and compact living. Cubed folds out into the room, circumventing the need for pulling the sofa away from the wall while converting from sofa to bed. Cubed Wood is a user-friendly sleeper sofa that does not hog space without compromising the generous queen bed. It fits well into the conscious urbanite’s living room, apartments, beach houses and vacation homes as well as teenage and guest rooms. The Cubed design positively refresh a room layout while offering a sizeable bed for a comfortable rest. Cubed holds a storage compartment under the seat that enables you to store beddings, blankets or cushions.
The Design Story
First drawn by Per Weiss in 2009, Cubed is a small-space classic: a crisp, tailored silhouette that opens forward into a full bed with a single fluid movement. The Cubed keeps the footprint of a compact two-seater and still hides a bedding box under the seat.

How does the Cubed open into a bed?
No fiddling with legs: they tuck themselves away as you pull the bed out; the back pillows come with it. The finished sleeping surface is 63" x 79".
What does the Cubed feel like to sit and sleep on?
It uses Innovation Living's No-zag spring system with a medium feel. The back cushions are filled with 100% fiberfill.
Which fabric is right for the Cubed?
Esina Cedar Brown, Mixed Dance Grey and Mixed Dance Natural are the quickest to ship. All 35 fabrics show their Martindale rub count: a higher number means more abrasion resistance, so families with kids or pets may want one rated 50,000 or above. Swatch colors on screen can differ slightly from the real fabric.
Is the Cubed made with healthier materials?
Yes. Its foam is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances, and many of the fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified as well.
Who designed the Cubed?
Per Weiss, Oliver & Lukas WeissKrogh 2009. Per Weiss has led design at Innovation Living since 1989; the company was founded in Denmark in 1971 by Flemming Højfeldt.
