Narciso Table Lamp by Penta

Narciso is a small rechargeable table lamp with a cone that opens to spread and reflect a soft light, designed in 2017 for Penta by Nicola Gallizia.

It comes in 4 finishes: Matt White, Matt Bronze, Orange and Grey.

The Design Story

Penta designs and makes its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy. The Narciso table lamp takes its inspiration from the myth of Narcissus, reflecting elegance and light like the surface of water. Its conical shape opens to diffuse and reflect a soft, delicate glow, and because it is portable and wireless it can move with you from table to table.

The Designer

Nicola Gallizia was born in Milan and studied architecture at the Milan Polytechnic. From 1990 to 1999 he worked with Luca Meda on projects for Molteni & C. and Dada, then worked as a consultant. Since 1999 he has worked with the group Chamber, and in 2005 he opened his own studio, CZ36, in Milan. Narciso is his 2017 design for Penta.

Why You’ll Love It

There is no cord to hide. Narciso charges, then goes wherever you need it: a dining table, a terrace, a bedside or a desk. A touch dimmer gives three light levels, and a four-stage battery indicator shows how much charge is left. The 7.5W LED puts out 343 lumens at 3000K with a CRI of 80.

Made for Real Life

Narciso is rechargeable, so it needs a charger rather than a wall outlet at the table. It weighs 2.2 lb (1 kg) and measures about 6.2 in (15.7 cm) across and 9.9 in (25 cm) high, according to Penta’s dimension drawing. Penta’s care and maintenance instructions are linked above.
