The Design Story
Penta says the Elisabeth collection was inspired by an astronomical play of hemispheres. On the wall, the chrome halves create a pocket of light and shadow beside a mirror, a bed or a staircase. Penta designs and makes its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy.
The Designer
Carlo Colombo is one of the best-known Italian architects and designers on the international scene. He has worked with makers such as Poliform, Flexform, Giorgetti, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, Cartier and Bentley Home, and as well as designing products and furniture he advises companies on strategy and curates exhibitions. His studio now works on large-scale projects around the world, from interiors to architecture, and his career includes several design awards.
