Clash is a wall lamp that sets a metal core inside a clear glass shell, designed in 2017 for Penta by the Artefatto design studio.

The Design Story
Penta designs and makes its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy. Clash combines the lightness of glass with the strength of metal to make a modern, sophisticated object, with a futuristic touch from its matt black and bronze finishes. In the Adjustable version the lower part moves, which Penta describes as a functional feature rather than an aesthetic one. Its line for the collection is “Modern shapes, futuristic finishings.”
The Designers
Artefatto is a design studio founded in London and Milan in 2015 by three young designers, Lorenzo Scisciani, Salvatore Morales and Sacha Andraos, brought together by their passion for design. The studio crosses the boundaries between art, design and fashion to create a personal vision of design, and works across interiors, furniture and lighting for top design brands, with what Penta calls a distinctive sensual purity and a refreshing simplicity. Clash is the studio’s 2017 design for Penta.

How It Was Made
Penta designs and builds its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy, and backs them with a 2-year manufacturer guarantee from the Auralis Group. Clash has an inner structure in metal, finished matt black or brushed bronze, inside an outer shell of transparent glass.

Why You’ll Love It
The glass shell lets the metal core show through, so the lamp reads as an object even when it is switched off. Two GU10 lamps and a 2.2W integrated LED give a total of 908 lumens, enough to light a wall and the space in front of it. The Adjustable version lets you move the lower part to direct the light.
Made for Real Life
Clash uses two GU10 lamps of up to 20W each, which are not included, so you can choose the bulb brightness and beam you prefer. The 2.2W LED is built in. Where It Shines

What is the difference between Clash Fixed and Adjustable?
The Fixed version has a rigid body. In the Adjustable version the lower part of the lamp moves, so you can direct the light. Both use the same lamps and give the same light output.
