Meet the Designer
Designed by
Pablo Studio
Pablo Studio is a tight-knit San Francisco team that picks one idea, refines it and strips it down to its essence. Their goal: objects that feel personal and a little surprising every time you use them.
The Design Story
Pablo Studio’s Contour replaces the shade around a bulb with an open frame of slender aluminum. LEDs sit flush in the inner edge and wash light across a lining of wood or fabric, and you can see straight through the lamp to the room beyond. The design is covered by US design patent D774,239.
Why You’ll Love It
It feels like a piece of furniture that happens to glow. The open frame keeps the view through the room, the lining warms the light like a lampshade never could, and a USB port keeps your phone charged nearby.
Made for Real Life
It dims through its full range, plugs in on an 8 ft (244 cm) cord and has an integrated USB port. The LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours.

Questions We Hear Most
What is an open-frame lamp?
Instead of a closed shade, Contour is a slim aluminum frame with LEDs in its edge, so light washes across its lining and you see through to the room.
Can I charge my phone on Contour?
Yes, there is a USB port.
How is Large different from Small?
Large is 25 inches tall and 13 inches wide; Small is 17.5 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Both give 780 lumens.
Does Contour dim, and does the color change?
Yes, through its full range. The light stays a fixed 3000K as it dims.
Who is it not for?
Anyone who wants dim-to-warm light or a wet or damp location. Pablo lists no damp or wet rating.
Why We Love It
