Meet the Designer
Designed by
Brad Ascalon with the Pablo Studio
Brad Ascalon’s work is reductive and rational, a search for the right balance of form, function and idea. The New York designer counts Design Within Reach, Ligne Roset and Restoration Hardware among his clients, and has shown work from Milan to Moscow. The Pablo Studio, the brand’s in-house team in San Francisco, engineered and refined it.
The Design Story
Belmont was designed for Pablo by Brad Ascalon, whose multidisciplinary Manhattan studio, founded in 2006, takes a reductive approach: design that is uncomplicated, rational and balanced between form, function and concept. Ascalon’s work has been exhibited around the world, and in 2013 he was invited, alone, to represent American design with an installation at Moscow Design Week. Belmont’s iconic raceway-shaped shade is lined with premium felted wool or woven white fabric, a natural canvas for beautiful textiles, paired with solid wood.
Why You’ll Love It
It brings texture to light. The wool lining glows warmly and absorbs glare, the solid wood feels like fine furniture, and the generous 3,200 lumens can light an entire room.
Made for Real Life
Two standard E26 LED bulbs, an in-line dimmer and a 9-foot cord.
