Loom is a cone of black thread pulled between two LED rings. The thread is strung in crossing strands, so the form is both structural and airy.
The finish is Black.
The Design Story
ET2 describes Loom as cross-threaded strands of cotton strung through two Matte Black illuminated rings of LED, a large truncated cone made with minimal material. The black cotton thread produces a form that is both structural and airy, in the spirit of weaving. It measures 18.75 inches across and 15 inches tall.
Why You’ll Love It
The weave lets you see through the shade, so it reads lighter than a solid shade. The two rings give 1980 lumens, which is enough for a table or counter, and the fixture accepts Triac or ELV dimming at 120V.
Made for Real Life
The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to find or match. We suggest a dry microfiber cloth for the finish and no spray cleaners.
Putting It Together
ET2 posts an assembly sheet for this fixture: Assembly sheet (PDF). ET2 recommends a qualified electrician for the install.

Questions We Hear Most
What is Loom made of?
ET2 lists aluminum, steel and PVC, and describes the shade as cross-threaded cotton strands strung through two Matte Black rings of LED.
How long is the cord on the Loom, and can I set the hanging height?
Cord length is 120 in, which gives a maximum overall height of 136.5 in. The shortest hang is 20 in, so it can work over a low surface as well as in a taller space.
How much light does the Loom give?
Delivered output is 1980 lumens, with a color temperature of 3000K and CRI 90.
Will my dimmer work with it?
ET2 lists the dimming as Triac or ELV at 120V. Send us your dimmer model and we will help you confirm the match before you order.
Can the LED in the Loom be replaced?
The LED is integrated and ET2 does not list the board as replaceable, so plan on it as a permanent light source with a rated life of 50,000 hours.
Where can I install the Loom?
It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of bathrooms with a shower and out of covered patios. The canopy suits sloped ceilings up to 15 degrees. ET2 recommends a qualified electrician for the install.
Why We Love It
It is made from very little, and the thread gives it a woven character.
