Carmen is an undulating metal shade that seems to float on a slender frame. Round adjustable heads hold the LED, so you choose whether the light goes up or down.

It comes in 3 versions: 16 in, 24 in and 32 in. Finishes: Black / Gold and Black.

The Design Story

ET2 describes Carmen as poetic and organic, with the undulating shade appearing to float on a slender frame. Abstract discs of LED light sit in round heads that can be aimed up to reflect off the white painted face of the shade for indirect light, or rotated down for bright light where it is needed. ET2 compares the form to a manta ray. It comes in 16 in, 24 in and 32 in sizes.

Why You’ll Love It

Most pendants have one way of lighting a room, and Carmen has two. Aim the heads up for a soft, bounced glow, or turn them down over a table or counter. Three sizes cover a small nook up to a long dining table, and the shape looks good singly or in a row. Black / Gold adds a warm accent, while Black is plain and graphic. It is dimmable and works on 120 to 277V.

Can the Carmen heads be aimed?

Yes. ET2 describes round adjustable heads that can be rotated up for indirect light reflected from the white painted face of the shade, or down for direct light.

How long is the cord on the Carmen, and can I set the hanging height?

Cord length is 120 in, which gives a maximum overall height of 51.75 in (16 in), 53.75 in (24 in), 54.5 in (32 in). The shortest hang is 16 in (16 in), 18 in (24 in), 20 in (32 in), so it can work over a low surface as well as in a taller space.

How much light does the Carmen give?

Delivered output is 420 (16 in), 720 (24 in), 960 (32 in) lumens, with a color temperature of 3000K and CRI 90.

Will my dimmer work with it?

Can the LED in the Carmen be replaced?

The LED is integrated and ET2 does not list the board as replaceable, so plan on it as a permanent light source with a rated life of 35,000 hours.

Where can I install the Carmen?

It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of bathrooms with a shower and out of covered patios. The canopy suits sloped ceilings up to 30 degrees. ET2 recommends a qualified electrician for the install.
