The Design Story
Niles is a Besa ceiling light built around its glass. Broad transparent glass cylinder, hand-blown with a random bubble pattern, in Amber, Blue, Clear or Smoke; each color also comes with an inner opal cylinder that hides the lamp and softens the light. Besa’s signature is the glass. American designers work with European craftsmen, every shade is made by hand, and each one is inspected in Ohio before it leaves the factory, so the small variations you see are the mark of a handmade piece, not a flaw.

How big is the Niles 10?
About 9.5 inches across and 9 inches from the ceiling.
Is the Niles 10 LED version dimmable?
Yes: the LED is CL dimmable and gives about 800 lumens of warm 3000K light. The bulb version dims with a regular incandescent dimmer.
Which Niles 10 glass color is the easiest to live with?
Clear Bubble/Opal: the outer glass is clear, the inner opal keeps the light soft, and the bubbles do the decorating. Smoke is the moodier neutral; Amber and Blue add real color.
Can the Niles 10 handle a steamy bathroom?
Yes. It is damp rated for indoor rooms, so bathroom and laundry ceilings are fine; it is not meant for outdoor porches or spots that get sprayed directly.
How far does the Niles 10 hang down?
About 9 inches from the ceiling on a flat 5-inch canopy: close enough for a hallway, deep enough to show off the bubbled glass.
What does the Niles 10 need for installation?
A standard 4-inch octagonal ceiling box and an electrician: it is hardwired, not plug-in. The spec sheet is linked above.
