The Design Story
Björsing turned the wastebasket into the widest KUA column, with a flush lid that keeps the fluting uninterrupted. Björsing, a Swedish cabinetmaker turned designer, borrowed the fluted shaft of a classical column and scaled it down into soft, matte bath pieces.
Architecture in miniature: KUA turns the fluted column into soft, matte pieces in Moonbeam cream, Micro Chip gray, Magnet charcoal and a warm Cedar Wood.

Wipe the bin with a soft damp cloth and dry it; lift out the inner bucket to empty and wash it. Avoid abrasive or chemical cleaners. KUA is made from colored recycled polyresin, a blend of plastic and ground stone that gives each piece its weight and solid, stone-like feel. Pairs well with the KUA toilet brush, KUA soap pump and KUA vanity pair.

Why We Love It
KUA brings a touch of classical architecture to the basin in a material with real heft, and it is partly made from recycled material. From a small town in Germany’s old steel region, the Blome family has gone from bicycle parts (1921) to metal gifts (1961) to the design label blomus (2000), still family-run in its fourth generation.
