Tepa Short Accent Rechargeable Table Lamp by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort

The Tepa Short Accent Rechargeable Table Lamp by Sean Lavin is a 9-inch cordless table lamp: a thin metal stem rising from a low round base to a shallow disc shade. It sits lower than the standard Tepa, so the light stays close to the tabletop. No cord to the wall and no outlet beside the bed, just a soft 2700K glow.

It charges over USB C, runs 12 to 14 hours on a full battery and dims in three steps with a touch. Choose Black, Bronze, Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass or Matte White.

The Design Story

Sean Lavin designs lighting by working with light, form and material, drawing on art, architecture, travel and technology. The short Tepa keeps the same three parts as its taller sibling, a weighted base, a slim stem and a disc that sends light down and out, in a smaller scale made for tight spots. The finish does the talking, so the shape stays quiet on a table.

Why You'll Love It

The short Tepa is the one you carry. Set it on a nightstand tonight, bring it to the dinner table or a restaurant-style bar top this weekend, and plug it in only when the battery runs low. The touch dimmer gives you bright, soft and low settings from one tap on the base. The warm 2700K light at 90 CRI keeps skin tones, food and fabrics looking natural. A six-foot USB C cable and a wall charger come in the box, so you can charge it the day it arrives.

Made for Real Life

The body is aluminum and brass, and the lamp weighs just 2 lbs, so it goes from room to room in one hand. It is ETL listed and carries a wet location rating, so a covered patio table or a bathroom shelf is fair game. Visual Comfort backs it with a one-year warranty.

Where It Shines

On a nightstand, a narrow console, a window sill, a small side table, a restaurant-style dining table, a bar top, a covered patio table, or as a movable accent in a rental where you cannot hardwire anything.

Who This Is Not For

The short Tepa is an accent light, not a task lamp, and at 206 lumens it gives a gentler glow than the taller Tepa Accent. If you need strong light for sewing or close reading, choose a hardwired or plug-in fixture with higher output. It also suits you less if you want a fabric shade, or a lamp that must run all day without charging; plan on a recharge every 12 to 14 hours of use.

Questions We Hear Most

How long does the short Tepa run before I recharge it?

Up to 12 to 14 hours on a full charge, depending on the dimmer setting, and about 5 hours to recharge over the included USB C cable.

Can I use it outside?

Its spec sheet lists an ETL wet location certification and an outdoor full weather rating, so a covered patio or deck works. We still suggest bringing it in during storms and charging it indoors.

How dim does it go?

It has three touch settings. On the low setting it draws about 0.6 W, and on high about 2.4 W, for a steady 2700K glow throughout.

What comes in the box?

The lamp, a 6 ft USB C to C charging cable and a wall charger. The LED module is built in.

Which cable color comes with each finish?

Black and Bronze come with a black cable, Matte White with a white cable and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass with a cream cable.

How is it different from the taller Tepa Accent?

Both share the same disc shade, battery and touch dimmer. The short lamp stands 9 inches tall and weighs 2 lbs, while the Tepa Accent stands 13.1 inches tall and weighs 4 lbs with a slightly brighter output.

Why We Love It

A small lamp should still feel considered. The short Tepa gives a nightstand or a bar top a pool of warm light and a clean vertical line, then goes wherever you carry it.
