The Design Story

Sean Lavin works the way an architect sketches: fewer lines, each one placed with care. Ponte takes the reading lamp back to its structure, a thin stem, one hinge and one light source. The cylinder head is the only mass in the whole design, and it is small enough to disappear into a room. Because the arm pivots at a visible joint, the lamp can lean toward a chair, a desk or a book and then step back into the background once you are done.
