Ponte Large Chandelier by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort

The Ponte Large Chandelier by Sean Lavin is a modern LED chandelier of four slim cylinder lights on a thin, rod-hung boom. It spans 36 inches and is only 5.2 inches tall, so it lights a table from above without hiding it. It comes in Nightshade Black or Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass.

The Design Story

Visual Comfort says the Ponte collection by Sean Lavin was inspired by the Ponte Skyscraper in Johannesburg, and the chandelier carries that modern architectural idea in miniature: upright cylinders, thin metal lines and nothing more. A single stem drops from a round canopy to a slim hub, the arms reach out from it, and each cylinder holds a dedicated LED module. It is architectural lighting for a modern minimalist, scaled for a dining table, a kitchen island or a conference table.

Why You'll Love It

Ponte Large is made for a long table or a wide island: it gives 3,556 lumens at 3000K and 90 CRI from four cylinders, so there is real light to eat, work and read by. It hangs from rigid stems, four of 12 inches and two of 6 inches, so you decide how low it sits, from a minimum height of 17.2 inches up to 78.7 inches overall. It dims on ELV, Triac and 0-10V dimmers.

Built for Damp Locations

Ponte Large Chandelier is ETL listed, and Visual Comfort lists it for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover, such as a covered porch or patio. The LED modules are integrated, so there are no bulbs to replace. Visual Comfort carries a California Proposition 65 warning on this chandelier: it can expose you to chemicals including lead, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm (P65Warnings.ca.gov).

Where It Shines

Over a dining table, a kitchen island, a conference table, a reception desk or a long entry, in homes, restaurants and offices.

Who This Is Not For

Ponte Large is a rigid, stem-hung fixture, so it hangs at a fixed height set by the stems and does not swag or adjust on cord. At 78.7 inches overall it needs a tall ceiling if you use every stem, and the ceiling box must be centered over the table.
