Patricia Urquiola, 2026
Patricia Urquiola is an acclaimed architect and designer who has served as Art Director of Cassina since 2015. After studying in Madrid and graduating from the Politecnico di Milano under Achille Castiglioni, she founded her Milan-based studio in 2001, focusing on product design, architecture and consulting. Known for blending advanced technology with warmth, tactility and material innovation, her work is featured in collections including the Museum of Modern Art and Triennale Milano. Pantaya was designed in collaboration with Pablo Designs and Haworth.
The Design Story
Pantaya was designed by Patricia Urquiola in collaboration with Pablo Designs and Haworth. Pablo says it draws inspiration from high-performance tent structures and athletic wear. The knitted cover is made from 100% recycled polyester and works as both shade and diffuser, hiding the frame and LED components so only a soft, tactile glow shows.

The surface. Light filters through the knit and spreads evenly across the form, giving comfortable ambient light with a subtle directional presence. It adds softness and texture to a wall rather than a hard point of light.
Made for Real Life
Hardwired and fully dimmable, with TRIAC/ELV and 0–10V dimmer compatibility (DALI on request), 120–277V input, and a 30,000-hour rated lifespan. Pablo lists it as ETL and CE certified and California Title 20 compliant.

Where It Shines
Beside a bed or sofa, along a hallway, in a stairwell or on a feature wall where you want texture and a soft glow. Who it is not for: anyone who wants a plug-in sconce (it must be hardwired), a wet-location fixture (Pablo’s sheet lists no wet or damp rating), or a light that warms as it dims (the sheet lists 2700K).

Pablo’s spec sheet shows a projection of 8.5 in (21.5 cm).
What color temperature is it?
Pablo lists 2700K with 90 CRI. The sheet does not list dim-to-warm.
What dimmers work with it?
TRIAC/ELV and 0–10V dimmers; DALI compatibility is available on request.
Can I use it outdoors or in a bathroom?
The spec sheet lists no IP, damp or wet rating, so we do not recommend it for wet or outdoor locations.
Does it need an electrician?
It is hardwired, so installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. Pablo provides an installation guide.
