Each shade is blown by hand, so no two are exactly alike.

Made for Real Life
The E26 medium lamp is easy to replace. Polish the glass now and then with a soft microfiber cloth. The brass is a living finish that deepens with age. Dust the frame with a dry cloth. The cord can be cut on site to the exact drop you want. Pair it with an LED-compatible ELV or TRIAC dimmer to go from bright to candle-soft.

What is the idea behind the Palona?
Sean Lavin designed it so that it is handblown glass meeting machined metal, glowing amber as you dim it. It belongs to Visual Comfort's Palona family, which comes in several sizes and versions.
Which Palona finish works with my palette?
Our take: brass brings warmth to wood and earthy tones; nickel feels bright and luminous.
Can the Palona be the only light in the room?
It is an accent (about 346 lumens with the LED lamp), so plan a group or add other light.
Is the Palona the right size for my space?
At 14″ wide it works alone over a small table or nightstand, or in a row of 3 over an 8-foot island.
Will the Palona work outside under a roof?
Yes. Visual Comfort rates it for damp interiors and outdoor spaces under cover, so a loggia or covered patio is fine; keep it out of direct rain.
Can I change the bulb in the Palona?
Yes. It uses a standard E26 medium lamp, so replacing it is easy. You can order it with an LED ST19 lamp at 2700K or a warm-dim LED lamp (3000K to 2200K), included, or no lamp for your own E26 bulb up to 60W.
How is the Palona hung?
It is cord suspended; in the box: 6 feet of field-cuttable cable. Sloped ceilings up to 45°. A licensed electrician should install it.
How soon can the Palona arrive?
Most versions ship within 2–3 business days. A few satin nickel options are on backorder (expected around November 24, 2026), and you can order them now.
