Moneta Short Accent Rechargeable Table Lamp by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort

The Moneta Short Accent Rechargeable Table Lamp by Sean Lavin is a slim stem rising from a conical base and ending in a thin, flat disc of light, like a small lantern drawn with a single line. It stands 9 inches tall, charges over USB C and has no cord running to the wall, so it can sit wherever a table needs a point of warm light.
It lasts up to 12 to 14 hours on a full battery and dims in three steps with a touch. Choose Black, Bronze or Matte White, or the Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass finish, which Visual Comfort expects to ship by April 10, 2027.
The Design Story

Sean Lavin designs lighting by working with light, form and material, drawing on art, architecture, travel and technology. Moneta Short strips a table lamp down to its three essential parts: a weighted base, a stem and a luminous top. Putting the light source in a disc held high on a slender post keeps the glow at eye level for a seated guest while leaving the table around it clear. It is the shorter sibling in the Moneta series, sized for places where a taller lamp would crowd the view.
Why You'll Love It
Moneta Short is built for the table that needs a little light and no clutter. Set one between two dinner plates, along a console or at the end of a bar, and the lamp barely takes up space while it lights faces and glassware. A touch on the base steps through bright, soft and low. The 2700K light at 90 CRI keeps food, wine and skin tones looking natural. A six-foot USB C cable and a wall charger come in the box, so you can charge it the day it arrives. Bronze and Black come with a black cable and Matte White with a white one, so even the cord blends in.
Made for Real Life
The lamp is made of aluminum and brass and weighs just 1 lb, light enough to carry from the patio to the dining room and back. It is ETL listed with a wet location rating and an outdoor full weather rating, so a covered terrace or a poolside table is fair game. Visual Comfort backs it with a one-year warranty.

Where It Shines
On a dining table, a bar top, a console, a bedside table, a shelf, a covered patio table or a poolside ledge, or as a movable accent in a rental where you cannot hardwire anything.
Who This Is Not For
Moneta Short is an accent light, not a task lamp. At 202 lumens it gives a gentle glow, so for reading or sewing choose a fixture with higher output. Because the light comes from a small disc on a thin stem, it also suits you less if you want a fabric shade that fills a room with diffused light; plan on a recharge every 12 to 14 hours of use.
Questions We Hear Most
How long does the Moneta Short run before I recharge it?
Up to 12 to 14 hours on a full charge, depending on the dimmer setting, and about 5 hours to recharge over the included USB C cable.
Can I use it outside?
Its spec sheet lists an ETL wet location certification and an outdoor full weather rating, so a covered patio or deck works. We still suggest bringing it in during storms and charging it indoors.
How tall is it, and how is it different from the taller Moneta?
This one stands 9 inches tall with a 4.3 inch base. It is the shorter version in the Moneta series, so it fits under a shelf or between guests without blocking sightlines.
How bright is it?
It delivers 202 lumens at 2700K and 90 CRI, a soft accent glow. The touch dimmer has three steps, drawing about 0.6 W on low and 2.4 W on high.
What comes in the box?
The lamp, a 6 ft USB C to C charging cable and a wall charger. The LED module is built in, so there is no bulb to buy.
Which finish should I choose?
Black and Bronze recede into dark furniture and come with a black cable, Matte White suits light interiors and comes with a white cable, and Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass adds a warm metallic glow that suits wood, linen and stone.
Why We Love It
A lamp this small should still have a point of view. Moneta Short gives a table one clean line of metal and a bright halo of light, then goes wherever the evening does.
