The Midrand 52 Chandelier by Sean Lavin is a modern LED chandelier. Four black steel cones sit at the ends of a cross of slim arms, a wide, graphic chandelier 52 inches across and 9.1 inches tall. It comes in Nightshade Black.
The Design Story
Visual Comfort traces the Midrand collection to the silhouette of the conical Grand Central Water Tower near Johannesburg in South Africa. Sean Lavin turned that form into geometric, streamlined metal shapes, and the result is a modern fixture with a strong outline and an unexpectedly soft, inviting glow.
Why You'll Love It
Midrand 52 is the larger one, made for a long dining table, a wide kitchen island, a great room or a double-height entry where the span of the fixture counts. It is 52 inches wide, 9.1 inches tall and weighs 8 lbs, and it hangs from 11.1 to 74.9 inches. The integrated LED gives 2,292 lumens at 2700K and 90 CRI, and it dims on 0-10V, ELV and Triac dimmers.
Built for Damp Locations
Midrand 52 Chandelier is ETL listed, and Visual Comfort lists it for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover, such as a covered porch or an open-air pavilion. The light source is an integrated LED, so there are no bulbs to replace. It is Title 24 compliant.

Where It Shines
Over a long dining table, a wide kitchen island, a great room, a double-height entry, or a covered porch or patio.
Who This Is Not For
At 52 inches wide Midrand 52 needs a big table or room, and it will overpower a small space. It comes in one finish, Nightshade Black, and it is open and airy rather than a dense, full chandelier.
