The Design Story

Sean Lavin designed the Midrand family around one clean geometric idea: a straight line, a right angle and a cone. In the 42 inch floor version the idea is stretched into a lamp that arches over a seat, the way a reading lamp should, without any visible hardware to clutter the line. The cone is the only moment of volume, and it throws a neat pool of warm light below while the slim steel stays quiet.
