Finish. Malta is offered in walnut wood veneer or white lacquer.
With the Malta Low Open Bookcase, sohoConcept and Tayfur Ozkaynak set out to make an everyday bookcase feel tailored: a 72 in, walnut veneer or white lacquer. Behind the quiet lines is contract-grade construction meant for years of daily use.
The Design Story
sohoConcept was founded in 2000 around a short brief: design down to the essentials, and let long-term durability and quality show through a clean-lined form language. The same pieces are made for homes and for contract interiors, and the studio's work has furnished W Hotels and the Paramount Hotel in New York, The Atlantis in the Bahamas and the CN Tower in Toronto.
Inside, the bookcase is built on a mDF with walnut wood veneer or high-gloss white lacquer. Each one is made in Türkiye. Tayfur Ozkaynak designed the Malta for sohoConcept and offers the one silhouette on a choice of bases and heights, so the same design can carry from a dining room to a kitchen counter or a lounge.
