The Design Story

Loci began as an idea from architects. Graypants was founded in Seattle by Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, and works today from studios in Seattle and Amsterdam. The collection takes its name from the mathematical term "loci," a set of points that together form a shape. Rain applies that idea literally: light points placed in exact positions so that the whole reads as one form.

Because Loci is modular, the same components scale from a residence to a hotel lobby. The system has been installed at Seattle venues such as Lucille and the Skyview Observatory, and in a custom lobby installation for Crowne Plaza Budapest. Rain brings that architectural thinking down to a single, ready-to-order chandelier.

What is the difference between Rain 24 and Rain 36?

They are two sizes of the Rain design, with 24 and 36 LED light sources respectively. Rain 36 is the fuller of the two and suits longer tables and larger rooms; Rain 24 is the more compact choice for kitchens and smaller dining areas.

What does the black or white canopy change?

The canopy is the ceiling plate that holds the fixture. Choose black for a graphic look against light ceilings or white to disappear into a white ceiling. The light output and specifications are the same either way.

Do I need to buy light bulbs?

No. The LED light sources are included, at 2700K warm white with a CRI of 90. Nothing needs to be bought or installed to make it light.

Can Rain be dimmed?
