Lajos 21 Sconce by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort

The Lajos 21 Sconce by Sean Lavin is a slim, vertical LED wall sconce: an elongated arm rises from a compact wall plate and ends in a solid crystal rod that glows. It is 21 inches tall and comes in Bronze, Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass or Polished Nickel.

The Design Story

Visual Comfort describes the Lajos series as elongated arms and solid crystal cylinders arranged with measured proportion. Fiber optics carry the light, and each crystal element is etched to diffuse it evenly along the form. The 21 inch sconce is the vertical, compact version, with the series' disciplined minimalism.

Why You'll Love It

Lajos 21 is made for hallways, bedrooms, and either side of a bathroom mirror. The crystal rod glows evenly rather than shining as a bright point, and the arm keeps the sconce slim: it is 21 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and extends 3 inches from the wall. It uses 5.6 watts at 2700K and 90 CRI, runs on any supply from 120V to 277V, and dims on 0-10V, ELV and TRIAC dimmers.

Built for Damp Locations

Lajos 21 is ETL listed, and Visual Comfort rates it for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover. It is ADA compliant, carries a 5-year warranty, and its LED is rated L70 over 50,000 hours.

Where It Shines

On either side of a bathroom mirror or a bed, along a hallway, or in a narrow entry where a slim, 3 inch deep sconce keeps the wall clear.

Who This Is Not For

Lajos 21 is a glowing accent, not a floodlight, so it is not for someone who wants strong task light from one fixture. For a mirror or a reading spot, use a pair or add another light source.

Questions We Hear Most

How big is the Lajos 21 Sconce?

It is 21 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide, and it extends 3 inches from the wall. It weighs 4 pounds.

How does the light work?

A dedicated LED feeds fiber optics inside the solid crystal rod, and the etched crystal spreads the light evenly along its length. It uses 5.6 watts at 2700K and 90 CRI, and the LED is rated L70 over 50,000 hours.

What voltage and dimmers does it use?

It is universal 120V to 277V, so one version suits home and commercial wiring. It dims on 0-10V, ELV and TRIAC dimmers; use an LED compatible dimmer.

Is it ADA compliant?

Yes. Visual Comfort lists it as ADA compliant, and it extends 3 inches from the wall. Check your local code for your installation.

Which finish should I choose?

Bronze is a deep, dark finish that gives the sconce a crisp outline against a light wall. Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass is warm and golden with a hand-finished look, and it is a living finish that develops a patina over time; if it turns uneven or spotty, a brass cleaner can restore it. Polished Nickel is bright and cool and suits white, gray or marble rooms.

Can I use it outdoors?

Visual Comfort rates it for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover, such as a covered porch. It is not for fully exposed outdoor use.

Why We Love It

Lajos 21 turns a solid crystal rod into a slim vertical glow on the wall.
