Meet the Designer
Designed by
Angie Thornbury, ASID/CID
La Fête Design is the brainchild of Angie Thornbury, ASID/CID, and is made in Valencia, California.
Her work is drawn as soft, rounded, modular forms, each one meant to read as a shape in the landscape before it reads as furniture.
The Design Story
At the center is the Crib, a low queen-size resort bed; two Lean wedge backrests tilt the body upright for reading or reclining; and two Dot cylinder ottomans stand at the ends as side tables. Every piece is wrapped in the same marine-grade vinyl, so the grouping feels carved from one material, ready for an 8 ft by 8 ft cabana.
La Fête Design is a Los Angeles company noted for striking, sculptural lounge seating. Its patented, modular forms are made in Valencia, California, in lightweight, weatherproof materials and dressed in marine-grade vinyl.
Why You'll Love It
- Designed for an 8 ft by 8 ft footprint
- Made in Valencia, California; arrives fully assembled
- The brand designs the line for indoor and outdoor use, including hospitality
Made for Real Life
- The bed measures 80 by 60 in, so allow about 8 by 8 ft overall with the side ottomans and room to walk.
- Wedge backrests are loose; place them at the head end or set them aside for flat lounging.
- Everything arrives assembled; measure doors, gates and elevators for the 80 in bed.
- The brand states this piece cannot ship by FedEx Ground; delivery is a scheduled special delivery arranged with the factory.
- Choose a single vinyl color, then layer pillows and a throw for the season.
Wipe with mild dish soap and warm water, then rinse with clear water. For a stubborn mark, use a soft brush with a gentle non-abrasive cleanser and light pressure, because abrasive products can dull the vinyl's protective finish. The brand also sells its own vinyl cleaner and conditioning cream, and a damaged or outdated cover can be replaced.
Worth knowing
- Anyone seating a group; this is a two-person layout
- Spaces smaller than about 8 by 8 ft
- Buyers who need a published weight capacity, warranty term or lead time
- Those who want a framed mattress bed with a headboard; this is a low cushion platform
