Her work is drawn as soft, rounded, modular forms, each one meant to read as a shape in the landscape before it reads as furniture.
The Design Story
In Angie Thornbury's modular vocabulary it is the piece that anchors a curved sectional, giving the soft arcs around it a calm centre. Its perfect round has no front or back, so a group can gather from any direction, and it is light enough at 17 lb for one person to shift.
La Fête is Angie Thornbury's collection of curved, mixable, reconfigurable pieces, built so that one form can be a lounge today and part of a larger composition tomorrow.
