With the Gakko End Table, sohoConcept and Tayfur Ozkaynak set out to make an everyday end table feel tailored: a black or brown marble on steel or gold frame. Behind the quiet lines is contract-grade construction meant for years of daily use.
The Design Story
sohoConcept began in 2000 with a focus on the essentials: lasting construction, honest materials and a clean line. Its collection moves easily between residential rooms and contract projects, from the Paramount Hotel in Manhattan to Milos restaurant in Miami and The Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.
Inside, the end table is built on a brushed (matte) stainless steel or gold finish, geometric wire form. Tayfur Ozkaynak designed the Gakko for sohoConcept and offers the one silhouette on a choice of bases and heights, so the same design can carry from a dining room to a kitchen counter or a lounge.
