The Fuchsia Table Light rises from a round timber base like a flower about to open. Tall, slender petals of wood surround the bulb and catch its glow, so the lamp sheds a warm, gentle ambient light and looks like a small sculpture on the table.
Designed by Alex MacMaster and launched in 2019, it is handmade to order in his Worcestershire workshop in oak or walnut.

The Design Story
Named, like much of the MacMaster collection, after a flower, the Fuchsia is built from timber petals that stand upright in a loose crown, each one curving slightly so light spills between them.
The result is a lamp that is lovely switched off and quietly magical switched on, when the inner faces of the petals glow and the room takes on a warm, relaxing light. The timber comes only from FSC and PEFC certified suppliers, and each lamp is built by hand.
About the Designer
Alex MacMaster founded MacMaster Design in 2009 on a simple belief: that the objects we live with every day deserve the care usually kept for fine art. He works from a studio in the Worcestershire countryside, at The Guildings in Trimpley near Bewdley, and designs and builds each piece himself, from the first sketch to the final finish.
His work draws on Art Deco geometry, the organic forms of plants and flowers, and the quiet beauty of timber grain. Design, development, making and packing all happen under one roof, and offcuts from one range feed the next, so very little goes to waste. MacMaster pieces now light private homes, luxury hotels and flagship stores across the UK, Europe and beyond.

Recognition
The MacMaster studio has been awarded five-star tradestand honours by the Royal Horticultural Society at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026, at RHS Hampton Court Palace in 2025, and at RHS Sandringham and RHS Badminton in 2026. These awards recognise the studio's exhibits as a whole.
