The FontanaArte Naska Clamp Lamp is the clamp-mounted table lamp of the Naska family, a classic that dates to 1933: a lamp with a revolving, adjustable arm that fixes to the edge of a desk or table. It comes in two sizes, Small and Large, in White, Black and Chrome.
“It is the desk lamp par excellence, the original ancestor of every lamp with a spring-balanced arm.”
The Design Story
The Naska family of lamps is a classic from 1933. Simple and functional, with a revolving, adjustable arm, it is available in three versions: table, floor and wall. The maker says that more than any other lamp, Naska expresses an unmistakable identity through its archetypal form, and calls it a timeless object, suitable for both domestic spaces and those dedicated to work.
About the Designer
Naska comes from the FontanaArte Historical Archive. The archive is a collection of ideas, sketches on paper and designs that are first drafted in-house and then developed over the years until they reach their full potential and join the FontanaArte collection. Designs that come from the archive are not tied to one designer's name. They are the result of team work and of the collective creative energy of the professionals who work in the company.
Why You'll Love It
The adjustable arm and body let you swing the light where you need it, and the clamp base fixes the lamp to a table or desk edge. The light is direct, and the lamp switches on with a rotating on/off switch on the head of the diffuser. The maker describes the family as suitable for both domestic spaces and those dedicated to work.
About the Light
Naska takes an E26 bulb, up to 46 W, at 110 V. The light is direct and not dimmable. The bulb is not included.
