Enferme 15 Outdoor Wall Lantern by Sean Lavin for Visual Comfort

The Enferme 15 Outdoor Wall Lantern by Sean Lavin is a modern interpretation of the classic lantern, engineered for outdoor environments. A clear glass enclosure frames a thin inner glass tube that glows like an Edison bulb. At 15 inches it is the smallest Enferme. Finished in Outdoor Black with a brass backplate.

The Design Story

Visual Comfort says the Enferme name is French for “enclosed”, which speaks to its defining feature: a clear glass enclosure framing a thin inner glass tube. The tube houses an integrated LED light source designed to mimic the warmth and profile of an Edison bulb, so the look is familiar and the performance is modern. At 15 inches, it is ideal for entryways or smaller exterior walls, where disciplined lines and a Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass backplate introduce a subtle, classic detail to contemporary architecture. Every component, from the glass panels to the machined brass hardware, is built for durability and clarity.

Why You'll Love It

The Enferme 15 suits a front entry, a side door or a smaller exterior wall, where a slim lantern gives a classic detail without taking over. It is 15 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 3.9 inches deep, and it weighs 13 pounds. The integrated LED glows warm at 2700K inside the glass tube, with a brass backplate behind it.

Made for Real Life

The Enferme 15 has an aluminum frame, glass panels and machined brass hardware, built for durability and clarity. The spec sheet lists an ETL wet location listing, and the product page rates it Outdoor Full Weather, so it can hang on an exposed exterior wall. Visual Comfort backs it with a 5-year warranty.

Where It Shines

Beside a front door, at a side entry, on a garage wall or on a smaller exterior wall where a 15 inch lantern is the right size.

Who This Is Not For

At 5 inches wide, Enferme 15 is a slim lantern, so it is not a statement piece for a wide facade. For large entries or tall walls, step up to the 29 or 36 inch Enferme.
