With the Corona Handle Back Wire Counter or Bar Stool, sohoConcept and Namik Ozkaynak set out to make an everyday stool feel tailored: a fully upholstered shell. It is built to contract standards, for homes as well as restaurants and hotels.

The Design Story

Since 2000, sohoConcept has worked from one idea: strip a piece back to what matters, then build it to last. That clean-lined language is equally at home in a residence or a hotel; the studio's furniture has been specified for W Hotels New York, Aloft Brooklyn and the Delta Hotels in Toronto.

The base is solid steel wire frame with footrest and a handle loop at the back, chrome or black powder coat. Each one is made in Türkiye. Namik Ozkaynak designed the Corona for sohoConcept and offers the one silhouette on a choice of bases and heights, so the same design can carry from a dining room to a kitchen counter or a lounge.

Living With It

Clean leather-look and leather seats with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry them. Vacuum woven fabrics with a soft brush attachment and blot spills straight away; never rub. Keep wood away from direct heat and sun, and dust it with a dry cloth. Wipe metal with a dry microfiber cloth; skip scouring pads.
