The Collier Alabaster 480 Chandelier by Sean Lavin is a 480-inch strand of solid faceted alabaster glass that encapsulates integrated LED modules, joined by solid brass connectors. It gives a soft, milky glow along its whole length. It comes in Bronze, Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass or Polished Nickel.
The Design Story
Visual Comfort describes the Collier by Sean Lavin as luxurious and sophisticated, with solid faceted glass made in the Czech Republic and natural brass connectors that are custom engineered to support it. In the Alabaster version the glass has a soft, stone-like white look. Visual Comfort notes that alabaster is a natural stone and that variations in color and texture are expected. The strands come in predetermined lengths, and Visual Comfort invites you to contact the factory for custom configurations.
Why You'll Love It
Collier Alabaster 480 trades the sparkle of crystal for a calm, pearly glow. It is 480 inches long and only 2 inches wide and deep, and it gives 9040 lumens at 2700K and 90 CRI from 162 lights using 164 watts. The solid brass connectors keep the line slim. You choose a remote driver or a surface-mount driver, and it dims on ELV and Triac dimmers.
Built for Damp Locations
Collier Alabaster 480 is ETL listed and rated by Visual Comfort for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover, such as a covered porch. The light source is an integrated LED, so there are no bulbs to replace. Where It Shines
In a stairwell, a double-height entry, a hotel lobby or any tall, open room that wants a long, soft line of light.
Who This Is Not For
Collier Alabaster 480 is a very long strand, 480 inches before it is draped, with a minimum hanging height of 159.4 inches and a weight of 130 lbs, so it needs a tall space, a structural ceiling and a professional installer. Visual Comfort also says the alabaster varies in color and texture from piece to piece, so it is not for anyone who wants every link to match exactly.
Questions We Hear Most
How long is the Collier Alabaster 480 Chandelier?
The strand is 480 inches long and 2 inches wide and deep. Visual Comfort lists a minimum hanging height of 159.4 inches, and the drape is set by how you hang it.
What is the glass made of and will every link match?
Visual Comfort describes solid faceted alabaster glass made in the Czech Republic and notes that alabaster is a natural stone, so variations in color and texture are expected.
What light does it give?
It has 162 integrated LED lights that deliver 9040 lumens at 2700K and 90 CRI using 164 watts. You can choose 2700K or 3000K, and it dims on ELV and Triac dimmers.
What is the difference between the remote and surface driver?
The remote driver option is available for 120V or 277V and the surface driver option is 120-277V universal. Pick the one that matches your wiring and where you want the driver to sit.
How heavy is it and what does it need to hang?
It weighs 130 lbs, so it needs ceiling structure rated for that load and a qualified installer. Have an electrician and your installer confirm the support before you order.
Can I use it outdoors?
Visual Comfort lists it for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover. It is not for fully exposed outdoor use.
