The Design Story
Chip is the entry point to Maxim's edge-lit ultra-thin flush mounts. A slim shell with an aluminum backing hides driverless LED technology, and edge lighting spreads a bright, even glow across the face. It gives the clean look of recessed lighting as a simple surface-mount upgrade for homes.
Why You’ll Love It
An integrated LED does the work, so there are no bulbs to change; it puts out 700 to 2400 lumens. The light is a 3000K white. Maxim rates the LED for 50,000 hours. Maxim rates it for ELV or Triac CL dimming. JA8 listed for California Title 24. Materials: polycarbonate, steel.

Where It Shines
In hallways, closets, laundry rooms, bedrooms and kitchens, and anywhere the ceiling is under about 8 ft. A flush mount sits tight to the ceiling, so it keeps walkways clear while lighting the whole room.
Questions We Hear Most
What sizes does the Chip flush mount come in?
It comes in 13 sizes from 5 in to 16 in across, all 0.5 to 1 in high. Two sizes come in two brightness levels: the 7 in round (1,050 or 1,200 lumens) and the 9 in round (1,200 or 1,500 lumens). Larger rooms take the larger size.
Which finishes and options are available?
It comes in Black, White or Satin Nickel. Not every combination is made in every size; the options above show only the versions Maxim produces.
Does it need bulbs, and can I dim it?
It has a built-in LED, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. It works with ELV or Triac CL dimmers.
Will it work with a low ceiling?
Yes. Every size sits just 0.5 to 1 in (1.3 to 2.5 cm) below the ceiling, so it suits ceilings under 8 ft.
Can it go in a bathroom or outdoors?
It is wet rated, so it can go in showers and in outdoor spaces exposed to rain.
Why We Love It
The clean, recessed-look glow of an edge-lit LED disc in its simplest form.
