Seat. Every Cattelan seat is carved from one solid hardwood: antique-brushed ash, sungkai, mindi in a wenge finish, teak in a walnut finish, or American walnut, which costs a little more. Grain and tone vary from seat to seat, and screens show wood slightly differently than real life.

The Cattelan PR Wood Counter or Bar Stool is sohoConcept's take on the stool as a crafted object: a solid wood seat on wood legs. The construction is contract grade, so it is as suited to a busy restaurant as to a dining room.

The Design Story

sohoConcept was founded in 2000 around a short brief: design down to the essentials, and let long-term durability and quality show through a clean-lined form language. The same pieces are made for homes and for contract interiors, and the studio's work has furnished W Hotels and the Paramount Hotel in New York, The Atlantis in the Bahamas and the CN Tower in Toronto.

The base is solid wood with stretchers, in beech (walnut or natural finish), teak (wenge finish), sungkai (white oak finish) or American walnut.
