The Catena 241 Link Chandelier by Sean Lavin is the longest chain in the family: faceted crystal bars and solid brass connectors running over twenty feet, falling from a ceiling canopy in one great U. With a low 4.4 watts of dedicated LED it is built as architecture first and lighting second. Choose Bronze, Polished Nickel or Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, in 2700K or 3000K.
The Design Story
Sean Lavin named the Catena series after the Italian word for chain link. Each link is a faceted rectangular crystal cradled in screwless solid brass, and electricity flows through the connectors themselves. The Link version keeps the idea at its simplest: one long chain, drawn out and left to fall.
Why You'll Love It
Catena 241 Link is for the rare space where nothing smaller will do, such as a grand stair, an atrium or a hotel lobby. A single unbroken line crosses the whole volume, and the crystal catches daylight as well as the LED. The dedicated LED delivers 305 lumens at 2700K and 90 CRI from 4.4 watts, so the effect is a glint along the chain rather than a wash of light. It dims on 0-10V, ELV and TRIAC dimmers. At about 44 lbs it is a serious load, so plan the canopy support with your installer.
Built for Damp Locations
Catena 241 Link is ETL listed and rated for indoor damp locations and for outdoor spaces under cover, such as a covered porch or an open-air pavilion. The brass and crystal construction is built to last, the LED is rated for 50,000 hours to L70, and Visual Comfort backs it with a 5 year warranty. It also meets Title 24.

Where It Shines
In an atrium, a multi-story stairwell, a grand entry hall, a hotel or restaurant lobby, or a tall covered outdoor space.
Who This Is Not For
Catena 241 Link needs over twenty feet of ceiling height and proper structural support for about 44 lbs. It is decorative, so plan other lighting for tasks. If you want the chain itself to light the space, choose the full Catena 241 Chandelier with 47 LEDs.
Questions We Hear Most
How is the Catena 241 Link different from the standard Catena 241 Chandelier?
The Link carries a small dedicated LED output of about 305 lumens, so it is mainly a sculptural chain with a soft glow. The standard Catena 241 Chandelier runs 47 LEDs along its links for far more light. Pick the Link for the gesture, the standard chandelier when you also need the light.
Does it use a remote driver?
The Link is listed as the surface version only, so it comes with a surface-mount driver. Visual Comfort lists no remote-driver option for it.
Can I dim it?
Yes. It is rated for 0-10V, ELV and TRIAC dimmers.
Can I use it outdoors?
It is rated for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover. It is not for fully exposed outdoor use.
What is the light color?
Choose 2700K for a warm glow or 3000K for a slightly crisper warm white. Both have a 90 CRI.
How much ceiling height and support does it need?
Visual Comfort lists an overall height of 242.7 inches and a minimum height of 28 inches. It mounts on a ceiling canopy and can go on a slope of up to 45 degrees. At about 44 lbs it needs proper support, so have your installer confirm the layout before you order.
Why We Love It
Catena 241 Link is a long, luminous gesture: the kind of fixture a tall space is remembered by.
