The Catena 149 Link Chandelier by Sean Lavin stretches a chain of faceted crystal bars and solid brass connectors to about twelve and a half feet, then lets it fall from a ceiling canopy in one long U. Three dedicated LEDs add a soft glow, and the links carry the rest. Choose Bronze, Polished Nickel or Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, in 2700K or 3000K.
The Design Story
Sean Lavin named the Catena series after the Italian word for chain link. Each link is a faceted rectangular crystal cradled in screwless solid brass, and electricity flows through the connectors themselves. The Link version keeps the idea at its simplest: one long chain, drawn out and left to fall.
Why You'll Love It
Catena 149 Link is made for volume. In a space with twelve feet of air, a thin line reads better than a heavy mass, and this one draws the eye the full height of the room. Three dedicated LEDs deliver 305 lumens at 2700K and 90 CRI from 4.4 watts, so the light stays soft and decorative. Catena 149 Link is ETL listed and rated for indoor damp locations and for outdoor spaces under cover, such as a covered porch or an open-air pavilion. The brass and crystal construction is built to last, the LED is rated for 50,000 hours to L70, and Visual Comfort backs it with a 5 year warranty. It also meets Title 24.

Who This Is Not For
Catena 149 Link is a decorative accent with three LEDs, so plan separate lighting for tasks. If you want the chain to light the room, choose the full Catena 149 Chandelier with 29 LEDs. It also needs roughly twelve and a half feet of drop, so it is only for tall ceilings.

How is the Catena 149 Link different from the standard Catena 149 Chandelier?
The Link carries three dedicated LEDs and about 305 lumens, so it is mainly a sculptural chain with a soft glow. The standard Catena 149 Chandelier runs 29 LEDs along its links for much more light. Pick the Link for the shape, the standard chandelier when you also need the light.
Does it use a remote driver?
The Link is listed as the surface version only, so it comes with a surface-mount driver. Visual Comfort lists no remote-driver option for it.
Can I dim it?
Yes. It is rated for 0-10V, ELV and TRIAC dimmers.
Can I use it outdoors?
It is rated for indoor damp locations and outdoor spaces under cover. It is not for fully exposed outdoor use.
What is the light color?
Choose 2700K for a warm glow or 3000K for a slightly crisper warm white. Both have a 90 CRI.
How much ceiling height and support does it need?
Visual Comfort lists an overall height of 150.4 inches and a minimum height of 26.1 inches. It mounts on a ceiling canopy and can go on a slope of up to 45 degrees. Have your installer confirm the layout and the structural support before you order.
