The Caspe 6 Rechargeable Table Lamp by Sean Lavin is the smallest lamp in the Caspe family: a slim crystal cylinder under a metal cap that fits in one hand. It stands 5.6 inches tall and 3.6 inches across, charges over USB-C and has a touch dimmer for three light levels.
The cap comes in Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass, Bronze or Polished Nickel. Its footprint is small enough to sit on a shelf, a nightstand or a bar cart without taking over the surface.
The Design Story
Sean Lavin designs lighting by working with light, form and material, drawing on art, architecture, travel and technology. In Caspe he sets clear crystal against hand-finished metal and strips the object down to those two parts. Caspe 6 is the most compact expression of the idea: a small solid cylinder that reads as a paperweight or a piece of desk sculpture until the light comes on and the crystal fills with warm glow.
Why You'll Love It
This is the lamp to tuck into a bookshelf, as Visual Comfort's photographs show, where it lights a single shelf without any wiring. With no cord to route, it also works on a bedside table, a desk, a windowsill or a dinner table, and it moves easily from room to room. It can be stood either way up: metal cap on top, or crystal on top with the light shining out of the glass. The integrated LED is warm at 2700K with 90 CRI and delivers 81 lumens, a candle-like glow for atmosphere rather than for reading. A touch on the lamp steps through the brightness settings.

Where It Shines
On a bookshelf, a nightstand, a desk, a windowsill or a small table, or anywhere indoors you want a compact pool of warm light without running a cord.
Who This Is Not For
Caspe 6 is an accent light. At 81 lumens it will not light a page for reading or work, and it is not a main light for a room. It is rated for indoor, dry locations, so keep it off a patio or a bathroom counter. Its battery is sealed and not replaceable.

How big is it compared with the other Caspe lamps?
Caspe 6 is the smallest, at 5.6 inches tall and 3.6 inches wide. Caspe 7 is 6.6 by 4.8 inches, and Caspe 8 is 7.6 by 5 inches.
How do I charge it?
Plug the supplied USB-C cord into a USB charging port. Visual Comfort's instructions for the Caspe family say a full charge takes about five hours, and an indicator light beside the port shows red when it needs charging, flashing green while charging and solid green when full.
Can I replace the battery?
No. The battery is a 3.8V, 7000 mAh pack that is not replaceable, and the LED module is built in, so there is no bulb to change.
How bright is it?
It delivers 81 lumens at 2700K and 90 CRI, a soft accent glow. A three-step touch dimmer on the lamp sets the level, drawing about 0.6 W on low and 2.4 W on high.
Can I use it outside?
No. Its spec sheet lists an indoor only, dry location rating.
Which finish should I choose?
Hand-Rubbed Antique Brass is the warmest, Bronze is the darkest and most graphic, and Polished Nickel is the coolest and brightest of the three.
