With the Capri Stackable Dining Chair, sohoConcept and Tayfur Ozkaynak set out to make an everyday dining chair feel tailored: a fully upholstered in PPM. The construction is contract grade, so it is as suited to a busy restaurant as to a dining room.

The Design Story

Since 2000, sohoConcept has worked from one idea: strip a piece back to what matters, then build it to last. That clean-lined language is equally at home in a residence or a hotel; the studio's furniture has been specified for W Hotels New York, Aloft Brooklyn and the Delta Hotels in Toronto.

Inside, the dining chair is built on a steel frame and steel legs, S-shaped springs, molded injected polyurethane foam, fully upholstered. Tayfur Ozkaynak designed the Capri for sohoConcept and offers the one silhouette on a choice of bases and heights, so the same design can carry from a dining room to a kitchen counter or a lounge.

About the Designer

Tayfur Ozkaynak designed many of the chairs and stools in the sohoConcept collection. The Capri Stackable Dining Chair is one of them, and, like his other work for the studio, it pairs a carefully shaped seat with a choice of bases and heights so a single silhouette can run through a whole project.

Living With It

Clean leather-look and leather seats with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry them. Vacuum woven fabrics with a soft brush attachment and blot spills straight away; never rub. Wipe metal with a dry microfiber cloth; skip scouring pads.
