Seat upholstery. Black and light grey faux leather and cinnamon PPM-FR are the entry options. S-PPM and PPM are performance leathers that wipe clean; cherry velvet and the off-white extra-loop boucle are soft, tactile fabrics; Camira Blazer is a pure new wool contract fabric. Base finishes

Drawn by Tayfur Ozkaynak for sohoConcept, the Barcelona Oval Swivel Lounge Armchair treats a lounge chair as something to be looked at as much as used, built around a high back on auto-return base. Behind the quiet lines is contract-grade construction meant for years of daily use.

The Design Story

Since 2000, sohoConcept has worked from one idea: strip a piece back to what matters, then build it to last. That clean-lined language is equally at home in a residence or a hotel; the studio's furniture has been specified for W Hotels New York, Aloft Brooklyn and the Delta Hotels in Toronto.

Inside, the lounge chair is built on a steel frame with S-shaped springs, molded injected polyurethane foam. The base is oval swivel base in polished stainless steel or black, 29.5 in (75 cm) long, with automatic return and a 3° tilt. Each one is made in Türkiye. Tayfur Ozkaynak designed the Barcelona for sohoConcept and offers the one silhouette on a choice of bases and heights, so the same design can carry from a dining room to a kitchen counter or a lounge.

About the Designer

Tayfur Ozkaynak designed many of the chairs and stools in the sohoConcept collection. The Barcelona Oval Swivel Lounge Armchair is one of them, and, like his other work for the studio, it pairs a carefully shaped seat with a choice of bases and heights so a single silhouette can run through a whole project.

Living With It

Clean leather-look and leather seats with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry them. Vacuum woven fabrics with a soft brush attachment and blot spills straight away; never rub. Wipe metal with a dry microfiber cloth; skip scouring pads.
