The Design Story
B.lux calls Aspen a double-shade suspension lamp, available in three sizes: S17A, S17B and S40. The S40 is the large one, with a wider pair of matte aluminium shades. The light is direct and diffused.
Werner Aisslinger was born in Berlin in 1964. He is known for his focus on form and on new materials: he helped bring materials such as polyurethane foam into product design, and used it for the Hoodie luminaire he designed for B.lux (per B.lux).

B.lux describes it as giving direct and diffused light. It uses two E12 LED bulbs of up to 6 W each, which are not included.
How much space does it need?
A fair amount of visual space: the shade stack is 15.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall. It hangs on a cord up to 78 inches from a 6.5-inch round canopy, so it suits a dining table, an island or a stairwell.
Can I put it on a dimmer?
