The Design Story

B.lux makes Aspen as a family of double-shade lamps, and the floor version comes in two sizes, F17 and F40. The shades are matte aluminium and every color on the list can be paired with every other, so you can match a room or contrast on purpose. The F17 gives indirect light and the F40 gives direct light.

Can I mix two colors on one Aspen?

Yes. Pick the Top shade and the Bottom shade separately from 22 matte aluminium colors, matching or contrasting. River, which B.lux offers on some Aspen lamps, is not on the price list for the floor lamps.

What kind of light does the Aspen F40 give?

B.lux describes the F40 as giving direct light. It uses three E26 LED bulbs of up to 11 W each, which are not included.

How much space does it need?

A clear circle about 15.5 inches across: the shade stack is 15.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall, on a round base of the same width. B.lux's drawing gives an overall height of 63.5 inches.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

B.lux lists the lamp as dimmable and includes a dimmer. Use LED bulbs that are rated dimmable.

When will it arrive?

It is made to order in Spain with a lead time of about 60 days, then it ships by parcel in three cartons. Orders over $100 ship free.

Is it approved for US homes?

The price list gives it as UL listed and 120V, with an E26 socket that takes a standard US bulb.
