With the Avanos PR Wood Counter or Bar Stool, sohoConcept and sohoConcept in-house design team set out to make an everyday stool feel tailored: an upholstered shell seat on solid wood legs. The construction is contract grade, so it is as suited to a busy restaurant as to a dining room.

The Design Story

sohoConcept was founded in 2000 around a short brief: design down to the essentials, and let long-term durability and quality show through a clean-lined form language. The same pieces are made for homes and for contract interiors, and the studio's work has furnished W Hotels and the Paramount Hotel in New York, The Atlantis in the Bahamas and the CN Tower in Toronto.

The base is solid wood with wooden rungs, in walnut-finish beech, natural beech, wenge-finish teak, white-oak-finish sungkai or American walnut. Each one is made in Türkiye. The Avanos PR Wood Counter or Bar Stool comes from sohoConcept's in-house design team and is built to the same contract standard as the rest of the collection.

Living With It

Clean leather-look and leather seats with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry them. Vacuum woven fabrics with a soft brush attachment and blot spills straight away; never rub. Keep wood away from direct heat and sun, and dust it with a dry cloth. Clean glass with a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
