Array is a pendant of rotating arms, each ending in a shiny opal glass globe, made by CTO Lighting of London. It comes in 3 sizes: Mini, 29.5 in across with 3 globes, Medium, 67.9 in across with 7, and Large, 106.3 in across with 11.

It comes in Bronze with Bronze Details and Bronze with Satin Brass Details, and the Mini comes in Bronze with Bronze Details.

The Design Story

Array is inspired by the eclectic charm of 1960s Italy, and CTO says the collection marries vintage aesthetics with contemporary design. Rotating arms and hand-blown opal shades let each piece pivot and be repositioned, so it is familiar yet modern.

CTO says the opal glass spheres look ethereal and add a sense of mystery, because the shades hide the bulbs. The rotating arms let you reposition the sculptural form.

The Story of CTO Lighting

Chris and Clare Turner founded CTO Lighting in London in 1998 on one principle: design lights of uncompromising quality, using only the finest materials and working with elite British craftsmen. Chris is an engineer who designs and builds with meticulous detail, and Clare brings the eye of fashion. Together they built a name for understated luxury in hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-cut stone, and the collection has gone on to light The Savoy, The Dorchester, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

How It Was Made

CTO assembles every Array light to order in England. The metalwork is solid brass that is bronzed and hand waxed, with brass detailing, and the shades are hand-blown opal glass.

The Finishes

Bronze. Deep, rich color and a robust build bring a touch of historical weight to a modern room, with a warm, inviting glow.

Satin Brass Details. Satin brass detailing contrasts with the bronzed metalwork and adds a warm, golden accent.

Shiny Opal Glass. Opal glass has a soft translucency that diffuses the light evenly and hides the bulb, with a smooth, glossy surface.

Made for Real Life

The 110-130V version takes G9 bulbs, up to 25W halogen or 2.5W LED at 2700K each: 3 in the Mini, 7 in the Medium and 11 in the Large. CTO requires dimmable bulbs for dimming on a trailing-edge (phase-cut) dimmer. The Mini weighs 15.4 lb, the Medium 33.1 lb and the Large 39.7 lb, and CTO asks you to check that the ceiling can carry it. CTO sets the overall drop when the light is ordered, and it cannot be changed on site. All sizes are IP20 for dry indoor rooms. Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Skip detergents and abrasives.

Is Array Pendant dimmable?

Yes, with a dimmable bulb. CTO lists a trailing-edge (phase-cut) dimmer for the 110-130V version and DALI only for 220-240V.

What bulbs does it take?

G9 bulbs, up to 25W halogen or 2.5W LED at 2700K each: 3 in the Mini, 7 in the Medium and 11 in the Large. CTO does not list bulbs as supplied.

How far does it hang?

CTO sets the overall drop when the light is made, and it cannot be adjusted on site. The minimum drop is 16.7 in (425 mm) for the Mini, 31.5 in (800 mm) for the Medium and 43.3 in (1100 mm) for the Large, which equals the height of each fitting. Tell us the drop you need when you order.

How heavy is it?

The Mini weighs 15.4 lb (7 kg), the Medium 33.1 lb (15 kg) and the Large 39.7 lb (18 kg). CTO notes that the ceiling structure must be able to carry it.

How do I clean it?

Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. If a mark remains on the metal or the glass, use a slightly damp lint-free cloth, then dry it with a soft dry one. CTO advises against detergents and abrasive cleaners.
