Seat upholstery. Faux leather is the entry option. PPM-FR is a flame-retardant polyurethane performance leather, velvet and boucle are soft, textured fabrics, and Camira Blazer is a wool contract fabric. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.

The Amed+ Wood Dining Chair by Tayfur Ozkaynak is sohoConcept's take on the dining chair as a crafted object: an upholstered seat on solid wood legs. It is built to contract standards, for homes as well as restaurants and hotels.

The Design Story

Since 2000, sohoConcept has worked from one idea: strip a piece back to what matters, then build it to last. That clean-lined language is equally at home in a residence or a hotel; the studio's furniture has been specified for W Hotels New York, Aloft Brooklyn and the Delta Hotels in Toronto.

Inside, the dining chair is built on a steel frame with S-shaped springs, molded injected polyurethane foam. The base is solid beech (walnut, wenge or natural finish), sandblasted ash in black, or solid American walnut; plastic-capped feet. Each one is made in Türkiye. Tayfur Ozkaynak designed the Amed+ for sohoConcept and offers the one silhouette on a choice of bases and heights, so the same design can carry from a dining room to a kitchen counter or a lounge.

About the Designer

Tayfur Ozkaynak designed many of the chairs and stools in the sohoConcept collection. The Amed+ Wood Dining Chair is one of them, and, like his other work for the studio, it pairs a carefully shaped seat with a choice of bases and heights so a single silhouette can run through a whole project.

Living With It

Clean leather-look and leather seats with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry them. Vacuum woven fabrics with a soft brush attachment and blot spills straight away; never rub. Keep wood away from direct heat and sun, and dust it with a dry cloth. Wipe metal with a dry microfiber cloth; skip scouring pads.
