Akova X-Large is a glowing globe with a two-tone metal cap, mid-century in spirit and quietly luxurious in finish.
The Design Story
Sean Lavin started with the most familiar pendant there is, the globe, and gave it a tailored collar of metal. The upper housing wraps the sphere like a cap, finished in two tones.
Below it, a smooth acrylic diffuser spreads soft, even light, so the pendant reads as a band of color above a pool of glow.
Why You'll Love It
It is easy to live with: retro without being kitsch, generous in scale, and simple to relamp with an ordinary E26 bulb. Matte Black with Aged Brass is graphic; Aged Brass with Bright Brass is all warmth.
Made for Real Life
The E26 medium lamp is easy to replace. The brass is a living finish that deepens with age. A soft, dry cloth keeps the metalwork clean. The cord can be cut on site to the exact drop you want. Pair it with an LED-compatible ELV or TRIAC dimmer to go from bright to candle-soft.

Which Akova X-Large finish works with my palette?
Our take: black gives a crisp, graphic outline; brass brings warmth to wood and earthy tones.
Can the Akova X-Large be the only light in the room?
Over a counter or small table, yes: the LED lamp gives about 908 lumens. In a bigger room, add recessed or lamp light.
Is the Akova X-Large the right size for my space?
At 18″ wide it works alone over a small table or nightstand, or in a row of 3 along an 8-ft island.
Will the Akova X-Large work outside under a roof?
Yes. Visual Comfort rates it for damp interiors and outdoor spaces under cover, so a loggia or covered patio is fine; keep it out of direct rain.
Can I change the bulb in the Akova X-Large?
Yes. It uses a standard E26 medium lamp, so replacing it is easy. You can order it with a 17W LED A21 lamp (included), or no lamp for your own E26 bulb up to 60W.
How is the Akova X-Large hung?
It is cord suspended; in the box: 12 feet of field-cuttable black cloth cord. Sloped ceilings up to 45°. A licensed electrician should install it.
How soon can the Akova X-Large arrive?
