The Design Story
Peter Ellis and Gabriel Tam designed Piccolo in Sydney in 2024 as the short, sharp, confident member of the NEOZ family. Rather than tool an entirely new lamp, the team reused a proven base and a fluted diffuser, which meant less waste and a lamp that is small, efficient and made to last. Its internal structure is 75% post-consumer recycled plastic, and in 2024 it won both the Archiproducts Design Award and the Archiproducts Sustainability award.
Why You’ll Love It
It brings a jewel-like sparkle to the smallest footprint. The fluted diffuser breaks the light into soft facets, so even switched to low it looks alive. Brushed Gold, Bronze and Stainless Steel each read differently: warm and festive, moody and modern, or crisp and architectural. And because it is IP64, the same lamp can move from the dining room to the pool deck.
The Cordless Advantage
Going cordless changes how you light a room: you place the glow where you want it, then move it when the evening moves outside. The Piccolo runs up to 17 hours on high and up to 55 hours on low, and recharges in about 3.5 hours on its base. Inside is a Panasonic lithium-ion battery built for hundreds of cycles and designed to be swapped, not thrown away, which is why NEOZ lamps from decades ago are still in service.
