What you get: the lamp plus its NEOZ charging base, so you can charge it the day it arrives. NEOZ lamps only charge on a NEOZ base, tray or charging station.
Fitting out a restaurant, bar or hotel? Already own NEOZ chargers, or charging on a NEOZ tray or station? Pick Charging Base: Not included and save $50 on each lamp.
Owl 1 Rechargeable Table Lamp by NEOZ — a NEOZ hospitality classic: a dome reflector throws glare-free light straight down, with almost no reflection on windows.
Why it’s worth it
- Made by hand in Terrey Hills, Sydney, by the studio that has been perfecting cordless light since 1995.
- One charge, many nights: roughly 13 four-hour dinners on the lowest setting (N1), or 77 with the Pro battery.
- Nothing is disposable: the battery, LED and diffuser can all be replaced, and the lamp carries a 5-year warranty.
- IP52: shrugs off dust and drips.
- Chosen by hospitality: NEOZ lamps glow in Claridge’s, Six Senses and The Ritz London, according to NEOZ.
The Design Story
Peter Ellis and Gabriel Tam designed the Owl in 2006, and it has lit hospitality tables for two decades. The Owl 1 is the downlight version; the Owl 2 adds a glowing opal cylinder and the Owl 3 a ribbed cone.
Why You’ll Love It
It does one thing perfectly: light the table, not the room. Brass and copper warm up a dark dining room; stainless steel is crisp and modern. It is compact enough for small tables and sturdy enough for daily service.
The Cordless Advantage
Going cordless changes how you light a room: you place the glow where you want it, then move it when the evening moves outside. The Owl 1 runs up to 17.5 hours on high and up to 55 hours on low with the N1 battery, or up to 66 hours on high and up to 310 hours on low with the Pro, and recharges in about 3.5 hours on its base. Inside is a Panasonic lithium-ion battery built for hundreds of cycles and designed to be swapped, not thrown away, which is why NEOZ lamps from decades ago are still in service.

Our Designer’s Pick
Choose the Owl 1 for any table with a view: the dome keeps the glow off the glass so guests see out, not reflections.
Where It Shines
It looks at home on a table by a window, a restaurant with a view, a terrace under cover or a desk. Explore with NEOZ Owl 2, NEOZ Owl 3, 6-lamp charging tray.
The People Behind It

Credit for the Owl 1 goes to Peter Ellis & Gabriel Tam. Pictured is the NEOZ product design and engineering team in Sydney, the studio Peter Ellis started in 1983, where each lamp is still put together by hand.
Questions We Hear Most
Why choose a cordless Owl 1 over a candle or a plug-in lamp?
No flame, smoke or wax, and no cable to hide: the Owl 1 gives the same warm glow night after night, wherever you set it, then recharges on its base.
How do I charge the Owl 1?
Set it on a NEOZ charging base, tray or station. Select “Charging Base: Included” if you don’t have one yet. A full charge takes about 3.5 hours (about 8.5 hours for the Pro battery).
Where can I use the Owl 1?
Indoors and covered outdoor spaces such as verandas and sheltered terraces; not for rain. Its rating is IP52.
What warranty comes with the Owl 1?
Five years on materials and workmanship from NEOZ, and one year on the battery. Parts are replaceable, and NEOZ services its lamps for the long term.
Why is the Owl 1 good near windows?
Its dome reflector sends the light straight down onto the table, so very little light reaches the glass and you see the view instead of reflections.
When will my Owl 1 arrive?
It leaves our warehouse within 2–3 business days of your order.
