Cortex is a central cylinder of opal white acrylic surrounded by thin ribbed glass pieces of different lengths. A recessed downlight in the housing casts light below.
It comes in 2 versions: 14 in and 10 in. Finishes: Black and Natural Aged Brass. Glass: Clear Ribbed.
The Design Story
ET2 describes Cortex as a central cylinder diffuser of opal white acrylic inside a cavity of thin ribbed glass in various lengths. The pendant also has a downlight recessed within the housing, which casts light downward. It is offered in Natural Aged Brass or Black, with Clear Ribbed glass, in 10 in and 14 in heights.

The ribbed glass breaks up the light and gives the shade a vertical texture. The downlight makes it useful as well as decorative, so it can light a counter or a table. The 14 in version is offered in both Natural Aged Brass and Black. The 10 in is offered in Natural Aged Brass. It is dimmable with Triac, ELV or 0-10V.
Made for Real Life
The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to find or match. We suggest a dry microfiber cloth for the finish and no spray cleaners.

Questions We Hear Most
Does Cortex have a downlight?
Yes. In addition to the central acrylic diffuser, ET2 lists a downlight recessed within the housing that casts light downward.
How long is the cord on the Cortex, and can I set the hanging height?
Cord length is 120 in, which gives a maximum overall height of 137.25 in (14 in), 133.25 in (10 in). The shortest hang is 16 in (14 in), 13 in (10 in), so it can work over a low surface as well as in a taller space.
How much light does the Cortex give?
Delivered output is 600 (14 in), 450 (10 in) lumens, with a color temperature of 3000K and CRI 90.
Will my dimmer work with it?
ET2 lists the dimming as Triac, ELV or 0-10V. Send us your dimmer model and we will help you confirm the match before you order.
Can the LED in the Cortex be replaced?
The LED is integrated and ET2 does not list the board as replaceable, so plan on it as a permanent light source with a rated life of 50,000 hours.
Where can I install the Cortex?
It is rated for dry locations only, so keep it out of bathrooms with a shower and out of covered patios. Ceiling slope is not listed, so plan for a flat ceiling. ET2 recommends a qualified electrician for the install.
