Configured here with a white finish. Artemide describes it this way: “The spherical diffuser design is enhanced by a removable-fitting and tapering luminous stem, making a gentle transition from the strong diffuser light to the blind lamp structure area. Base in zamac; stem in thermoplastic resin; blown glass diffuser.”

The Design Story
A spherical-shaped diffuser hand-blown in opaque white glass is enhanced by a removable tapering stem which emits a soft glow. The stem is made of steel with tubing covered in polycarbonate sleeve. Available in table, floor and suspension with 2 different globe sizes: 35 & 42.
Meet the Designers
Michele De Lucchi (born 1951 in Ferrara) is an Italian architect and designer and was a member of the Memphis group in the 1980s. With Giancarlo Fassina he designed the Tolomeo in 1987, which won the Compasso d'Oro in 1989 and grew into a whole family, from Micro to Mega.
Huub Ubbens: Born in The Netherlands in 1964, Huub Ubbens ran Artemide’s design department from 1997-2004. Deeply interested in the culture and science of light, he believes light displays both rhythm and geographic influence.

Is a bulb included with the Castore?
No. The bulb versions take E26 bulb, 150W max. A warm 2700K LED bulb gives the most natural glow (our advice).

How do I dim or switch the Castore?
