The Design Story
Calipso’s unique honeycomb surface was generated by feeding a photo of the moon into an image-based algorithm. The resulting fractal shape has an impure geometry that displays the irregular beauty of nature. The diffuser is built from an organic honeycomb-like shape with tubes of varying diameters, seemingly arranged in a random geometry.
Meet the Designer
Neil Poulton (born 1963 in Scotland) is an industrial designer based in Paris who focuses on simple, technology-driven objects for everyday use.
Why You'll Love It
- High color rendering (90+ CRI) keeps paper, wood and skin tones true.
- Driver is compatible to both 2-wire dimming and 0-10V dimming options.
- ADA compliant.
- Fractal shape of an impure geometry. -Direct diffused light output. -Louver in ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate).
Made for Real Life
Perfect for hallways, bedrooms, offices and living rooms that need clean, even ambient light. Good to know: it is made for dry indoor rooms, an electrician should hardwire it and special-order options come from Italy in 10–16 weeks.
